I am often asked about which Snow Finel products customers should buy. Here is my guide to layering your Snow Finel so you can get outside and explore.
Baselayer
Worn next to the skin to trap air. This air then warms up with your body, it keeps you warm when it’s cool and absorbs moisture when you get hot. This moisture doesn’t cool down as it dries so you stay warm unlike manmade fabrics or cotton. Baselayers are the perfect first layer and can be worn on their own under your jacket in the spring.
Midlayer
Worn as a second layer over a baselayer. Midlayer jumpers are slim fit so they aren’t bulky under your ski jacket. These jumpers give you a lightweight warm layer which works in the same way as the baselayer regulating your core temperature naturally.
Wear these jumpers with a baselayer on a ski day when the temperature range is -5 to freezing if you are skiing all day and don’t stand around for hours in the freezing cold. The midlayers styling and design mean you can wear during apres ski or during evenings in the hotel or chalet.
Gilet or Snow Finel Tank
These are real core warmth boosters! Made from two thicknesses of merino wool they keep your body snug and warm. With a long body and extended neck the gilet is perfect for keeping out chilly winds. The two way zip allows great temperature control.
Wear over a baselayer or the baselayer/midlayer combination on very cold days, zero to -10 and lower.
Full Zip midlayer or Bomber
These full zip versions of the classic midlayer allow you to regulate your temperature by unzipping from either end of the zip. Wear in the same way as the midlayer over a baselayer for normal ski days when the temperature ranges from -5 to zero.
Classic Ski Jumper
These are the heavy weight merino jumpers which are perfect for spring skiing without a jacket or for very cold days with a shell to stop the wind or snow. The feature suede pockets on the sleeves mean you can store your ski pass, and credit card easily, and has a larger back pocket for stowing the phone.
Wear over a baselayer for a comfortable day in the sunshine.
Leggings
Worn next to the skin to trap air. Trapped air then warms up with your body, it keeps you warm when it’s cool and absorbs moisture when you get hot. This moisture doesn’t cool down as it dries so you stay warm unlike manmade fabrics or cotton. Leggings are the perfect first layer under your ski trousers. The stylish colourways are great for lounging in the chalet or hotel.
Snood
These merino snoods are shaped for total comfort under a ski jacket. With a wider lower edge to allow the snood to sit low on the neck and shoulder tucking in to a ski jacket and a narrower head hole to allow the snood to be pulled up over the nose and face to protect from freezing conditions. Easy to tuck in under the helmet for total wind proof neck line. The merino absorbs dampness from breath without freezing like manmade fibres, it can be quickly dried and never smells.
Hat
Double thickness, seamless merino is perfect for keeping the head warm when you remove your helmet. Simple design with Snow Finel signature colours, easily folded away in a pocket. Essential ski kit wardrobe.
